DROP - IN FAMILY SKATE

Drop - In Family Skate Details:

Associates and Family Members (No Reservations Needed)

All visitors must sign in at the front desk before going into dressing rooms. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult (18+ years old) and all participants on the ice must wear a helmet. No hockey sticks or pucks on ice during family skate.

To ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for Family Skate programs, all users are required to observe the following guidelines.

Family Skating Guidelines

  • The Living Well Centre requires all participants wear a CSA helmet and skates while on the ice surface no matter the age and skill level

  • Only participants wearing helmet, skates and/or the usage of a wheelchair are permitted on the ice surface.

  • Do not enter the ice surface until the Zamboni door is closed. When buzzer sounds, skaters are required to leave ice surface immediately.

  • Everyone must skate in the same direction

  • Every 60 minutes of scheduled skate time includes 50 minutes of skating and a 10-minute flood.

  • Ice surface capacity will follow strict guidelines. For up-to-date capacity details, please see a Living Well Centre staff.

  • No hockey sticks, pucks, balls, chairs, or strollers are allowed on the ice surface.

  • No food or beverages allowed on the ice surface.

  • Skate assists are permitted, Skate blades must stay at ice level. No backwards skating, hockey drills, figure skating, carrying of children, racing or playing of tag allowed.

  • Any general horseplay, including play fighting, or deliberate interference of other skaters may result in patrons being asked to leave the ice.

  • The centre of the ice will be reserved as a learn to skate zone. This area is open to those learning to skate or with young children. The area should not be used to practice advanced skills.

  • Bench areas and designated dressing rooms are available for use during skates.

  • It is required that parents/guardians of children 12 years and under remain on-site and do not leave children unattended.

  • Living Well Centre staff are available on-site to enforce these regulations and ensure a safe skating environment for all patrons. The Living Well Centre staff have the authority to have any person(s) not abiding by these rules removed from the facility.

  1. A sign-in sheet is available at the front desk, which must be signed by guests upon each visit.

  2. All children entering the facility MUST be accompanied by an Associate or current member.

  3. Associates are responsible to ensure that all guests are signed in.

  4. Associates must arrange for proper care for children while at the Honda Recreation Centre. Failure to do so will result in the Associate being removed from the event they are participating in.

 

Children 12 years and under:

  • Must be supervised by an adult at all times.

 

Children 13 to 17 years of age:

  • Are permitted to view programs without adult supervision.

  • Must remain seated in the stands while viewing. If the child leaves the stands, wanders the facility, or disrupts others, the Associate will be removed from the program and be asked to supervise the child or leave the facility altogether.

  • Are not permitted to supervise other children.

               

Children 18 years and above:

  • Are permitted to supervise younger children.
